The Greenhouse
Work from home in Our Greenhouse at The Arnold House, a 24 x 70 foot tropical oasis where the temperature never dips below 60°. With over 150 exotic, tropical, and sub-tropical plants collected from far and wide you will feel as though you’ve stepped from a meadow in Catskill Mountains to a jungle in the tropics.
Outfitted with plenty of tables, you can work or enjoy a meal from The Tavern amongst Alocassia from Viet Nam; Orchids from Puerto Rico, Virgin Islands, and Hawaii; Fragrant Night blooming jasmine and cereus, Rare Midnight Tryst Hibiscus, a collection of six different passion flowers, and various fruit trees: Meyer lemon, kumquat, papaya, avocado, and bananas to name a few.
This climate controlled environment, where friends and family may gather to celebrate or share a meal, sink into a yoga class nestled amongst botanical splendor, or just walk around and smell the flowers, feels like summer all year long—no matter the weather outside on Shandelee Mountain. Just watch out for the spikes on our cactus collection, they tend to be prickly!
